OU and Texas interested in moving to the SEC?
I read an article just now on YARDBARKER.com and couldn't copy it, but it states thru unnamed sources that OU and Texas might just move to the Sec conference.  The article was posted today, but this is the only thing I've read that suggest this, so don't know if this is rumor, hoax or whatever.

The Houston Chronicle has an article about it.

I'm not sure if I like this or not. Every time the TV money is redone SEC and Big 10 seem to increase the amount of money they make over other conferences. It makes sense for OU to have to move to stay competitive. I had always heard the SEC told A&M they would not take Texas if they joined. But never heard anything official on that.

Looks like I may have to figure out how the SEC softball schedule works. 15 teams with OU and Texas. Vanderbilt does not play. Maybe they should start.

This sounds an awful lot like somebody floating a trial balloon. Supposedly two unnamed sources in the SEC office. There's been a lot of bluster over two anonymous sentences.

The Houston Chronicle broke the original story. You can read it on their site.

OKC can’t be happy about this at all.

I wonder if the SEC might be interested in playing a tournament at the Hall of Fame stadium? Lot of geographical reasons not to, but the chance to play a couple of games at the World Series venue would seem to appeal to teams?

Way down the road, but I wonder what LA is going to build for the olympics if softball is re-admitted for Sydney and LA, as The Olympic announcers seem to think? I could see a venue that might rival HoF for ncaa tourney beyond the 2035 date.

I think OKC sports authority should have that on their horizon - need to solve the “amenities” (locker rooms, batting cages, etc) issue in the next 5-7 years if LA builds something in the 10k seat area.

Looks like the move is a done deal, just a matter of when
