The rumor has it that texass offered Simmons a 200,000 dollar a year raise. That would be hard to turn down. On the flip side, rumor has it that OU is working on a substantial raise and/or package deal.
Lincoln wants him to stay. He's one of our best. It may come down to whether Dennis wants to be a head coach someday. The texass job would be a lateral move but would add to his resume.

Losing him to Texas would be pretty embarrassing. Hope it doesn't happen although I'm disappointed in our WRs. He's a great recruiter.

This is I see it as well. He could go to Texas and perhaps make more money but will likely be fired in 3 years or so along with the rest of the staff there.
You’ve got to think there are better opportunities out there if you’re looking at career advancement.

Not sure being part of staff that was fired in 3-4 years will look good on your resume and help you get a HC job...

Simmons has a much better chance of having a NC ring on
his finger in the next few years under Lincoln than Shark.
Shark had some great offenses, but he has had the best talent to do it with. Bama has added much of Lincolns play book to there offense not the other way around. If Simmons takes the Sooners to the NCs he will be more of a sought after head coach & sooner. Plus he has two of the best QB,s in the nation to deliver balls to WR,s. Makes no sense if OU will match his salary

I'm betting before it's all over.... Quinn Ewers, the 5* QB that switched from UT to tOSU will now switch back for Sark. Quinn, much like Ehlinger, grew up a whorn fan......he just didn't see a future with Pee Wee. He might see a future with Sark. Quinn is reported to be of the same capability as Caleb.
