Bloodbath

Need to keep running score just in case of any tiebreakers

Defense has really come on each game! 8 sacks and still a qtr to go

Riley had no business playing Spencer after he got dinged. None

Our running game is back!

We have a bright future. The foundation for #8 is being built this year. I enjoy watching how it started and the ride to the title. We will have a lit to discuss off season.

48-3 as I type this.

...game with the gayhawks was rightly perceived  as little more than a scrimmage. Not even enough interest to generate a game thread until SVT posted one.

Kansas is at least 5 years from even being competitive.

If the conference is going to carry KU for their basketball prowess, then teams like Cincinatti, BYU, Louisville, Houston, etc. should all be considered as bona fide options as additions to the Big 12, because they're ALL better than Kansas in football.
If I was the AD in Lawrence, I'd see if Paul Johnson could be enticed from retirement, or maybe go hire Troy Calhoun from Air Force and install an option attack.
They could win every good HS recruit suited for the triple option.  Every RB, O-Line, WR, and general all around athlete would love the chance to compete against the schools who said they couldn't play for THEIR program.
In 3 years, gayhawks would be competitive.  Every 3-5 years they'd have a team put up 8 or 9 wins.

AND, they wouldn't be the "JOKE" of college football any longer.
Les isn't going to get it done.

Need a new direction in Lawrence.

I don’t agree about Kansas. The problem they’ve had is firing coaches too fast. When in year 2 they get pressured to win more instead of staying the course in building thru 4 years of recruiting - the pressure to win forces coaches to bring in JC players and mess up recruiting.

I think Less Piles will get them back to 500 territory in 3-4 years. Its hard to win in Kansas. If they let him stay he will do much better than they had. Talking of firing him halfway thru year 1 is way premature

..."I don't agree about Kansas."  OK! We'll see.

This is halfway through Miles 2nd year in Lawrence, and they're no better now than they've been the past 5 years.

Miles reminds me of Chuck Fairbanks when he took the Colorado job years ago.
No longer has the moxie or mojo, just wants the paycheck.Like a boxer who hangs around too long.
I think the Miles era will finish like most since they ran Mangino off.

I discount year 1 in that dumpster fire. Year 2 Kung Flu kinda hurt. So 4-5 years to get back to 500.

Less is despised but he can coach players. Look at OU defense and how long its taken to go from Mike to now in year 3 of Grinch we are seeing signs of life. Still not there. Kansas will be like that but needs more time due to recruiting and reputation. I am not saying he contends with them but I see him getting back to 500 and to that fan base a bowl is like playoffs.

They said KU has 37 True Freshmen on their roster.
Some, including their QB, have talent.
Said Miles knows he has 5 years and is building from the ground up.
Biggest issue is recruiting to a BB school in the middle of Kansas.

Pretty good stat. And by running it helps the oline as defenders wear down.

Oklahoma ran for six touchdowns today making it the first time they have done that in back-to-back games since 1987 (7 against Tulsa & 6 against Iowa State)

Glad its not an amputation like the announcers made it sound. Still shoulda sat to not make it worse he was in pain throwing afterwards. Good thing is we have an off week.

Grinch took us from what, not even in the Top 100 teams in total defense to 38th in his very first year.  The bloom is only larger & more colorful in THIS, his 2nd year as OKLAHOMA DC.  You seem to have reconsidered some of your vitriol about Grinch's defense after the 2 consecutive losses.  Open mouth, insert foot, huh?

You think LES will get them to 500 and a Bowl Game,...given time.  OK.
I do not!   We'll agree to disagree.  Remind me in 3 years, SVT, when Miles proves you right.:D  I'll be right here to eat the plate of crow you can serve me.

I have always been a Grinch fan. Less so Riley due to decision making. He’s really good but needs to turn over playcalling. I like him majority of time. Crunch time vs big games gives me pause

Our D is much improved but not ready to take on the Bama or Clemson type teams - yet. But next year we will. They are improving game by game but bigger tests lay ahead. I love a great D. Absolutely love it

Our O has been the issue early this year to be expected. Oline was bad early but better of late. Does RS help? Yes. That hides some weaknesses but buys time for them to gel. They are

This is a foundation year. It sets the table for another long run of years. The change this go around is we will have a damn defense! And our O is gonna be great too. Defense wins championships is still true. Grinch is gonna help us get #8

Cool. Common ground.

Should Riley(perish the thought) ever leave for the NFL,

"I WANT GRINCH AS THE NEXT OU HC!"

The Grinch is probably only 2nd to Venables as the best DC right now.

It is the BEST hire of several good ones he's made.

The Grinch WILL be the hire that allows Riley to put #8 in the Trophy Case.:dude:

Yes. Everyone is focused on O, to be expected after so many years of O success. But Grinch is building a D and the right mentality. We will be scary good next year. As much as I want to make playoffs this year I think we are 1 year away. But we can win conf and get a great bowl and win it to have mojo for next year. Grinch is gonna but the hero in #8. I loved #7 and our D dominated FSU. It was so fun to watch. We are doing the building blocks now. He is changing their mindset. Thats key. Once they believe yet trust his system we will see us get turnovers yet still disciplined. Its a big change from gambling for a TO and miss and give up a TD play. Playing loose for turnovers yet disciplined enough to know when or when not to gamble. I am seeing some great D awareness lately and thats means Grinch is getting through. Still have work to do Kansas is a bad team. But confidence is healthy for players

OU fixing the defense is to key to not blowing it against the KSUs and ISUs of the world. Even if OU's offense has an off day, those teams shouldn't break 24 points against an actual OU defense we all remember.

I think OU will field their best defense since the 2009 defense next season. The 2013 group was ranked in the top 25 in total defense but they still had their issues.
