Wow! That was quick. Worth taking a chance on I guess, but it's a huge gamble and things typically haven't gone well for college head coaches going straight to be an NFL head coach.

I would like to say it's unfortunate as Baylor will be hard pressed to find such an equivalent replacement for him which can help with OU's strength of schedule, but on the other hand, it is Baylor and their football program deserves to rot in Hell.

Oh you know you are going to miss that outfit he wears! I wonder if he will get a Carolina Panther version of that or will it be banned at the NFL level due to being too hideous?

Actually, Belichick has the NFL patent on that.
If Belichick and Brady retire this off-season, then Ruhle will be able to claim it.
If BB comes back...sorry Matty.

Maybe now he'll be able to afford a decent shirt.

Edit: Oops, Clint and Humble beat me to it.

I was reading Baylor boards earlier this morning and seems a lot of concern about how bad their recruiting class is this year.

You know I have mixed emotions, on the one hand I want someone... anyone... well anyone but Texas... to do well to improve our strength of schedule, but on the other I remember Baylor fans defending Art Briles after he turned them into Rape U and it's hard to want anything good to happen to that place.

This is truly one of those scenarios where if most people think something is bad then well, yeah, it's bad. ;)

I agree that other teams in the Big XII need to get better. I just want Baylor to go back to the bottom.

This guy from CBS thinks at least 2 former Sooner QBs would be good candidates to coach the Bears.

"Go win it. Go win it all." That's what Ruhle said to Riley when they met on the field immediately after the B12 Championship game. I've liked Ruhle ever since. I wish him well.

Maybe Baylor will stink again like the good old days. I understand that the Big XII needs some meat on the bones, but I prefer Baylor to be terrible. But I am admittedly a poor sport.

Baylor would have to pony up. Fuente is already getting 4 million a year at V-Tech. Also, his last two seasons hasn't been as good as his first two seasons.

Sometimes that means the head coach's first two seasons were products of the previous coach's talent and influence, sometimes it is not.

Reports out today act like Aranda got the job.

if so... Rhule leaves Baylor, hire's LSU's passing coordinator to be his offensive coordinator... then Baylor comes along and hires LSU's defensive coordinator to be Rhule's replacement.

I was mentioning that last night. LSU has two new coordinators next year.
This is when you find out how good a college HC is.
Orgeron is a good guy and a good coach, but his downfall elsewhere has been not having quality coaches under him, I believe. We'll see how he does hiring this off-season.

Switzer used to have the best assistant coaches in the land.
In the first half of Bob's tenure, he also nailed new hires - nearly every year.
Bob hit a homerun with the LR hire (first good one in a while) and struckout on the defensive side by bringing in Mike and letting BV get away. Then keeping Mike too long.
