I'm 100% convinced Coach Riley will have the longest coaching tenure of any Sooner head football coach. Coach Switzer would have been the longest if not for the unfortunate events of the late 80s that led to his ouster.

The key is OU treating him right. If OU follows the script of the last 19 or so years then I think Riley will be here for a very long time. I bet that Riley gets a healthy pay raise come June ... or maybe even earlier.

You know being happy is much more important than just money. I think coach loves the college game to much.
He will make all the money any man would want. From
what I hear, the pros are not that much fun. You are
coaching men making more money than you. You think those
guys look up to you, as college kids do? I don,t see him
going any were.

I don't know why, other than $$$, anyone would want to coach in the NFL.

Too many prima donna players, short sighted owners, impatient GM's, etc....to have to deal with.

I still think with all the talk about talking to the best defensive coordinators in the country, hearing that OU is willing to pay out whatever it takes to get one of those guys that Lincoln's loyalty will be to whoever he is bringing in and to the university putting up the money.

It would be kind of dirty to talk someone into quitting their current job, convincing the athletic dept we need to pay them this amount.... then just walking away.
