...love music with lyrics that make me "FEEL" what the songwriter was trying to convey. Meadows is real. You can hear the haunting sadness in his music. My highest recommendation!

...be at the Blue Door tomorrow night for Travis Meadows.
Song writer supreme. Acoustic guitar, lyrics that resonate with life: joy & pain.
He's lived it, survived it.
Earnest, haunting voice that proves so.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

...my first visit to the Blue Door, and I was a little surprised it was little more than a small dumpy place.
Very Paseo-like.
Folding chairs in rows with an aisle down the center.
Intimate close quarters. ("Aren't yOU glad yOU use Dial, don't yOU wish everybody did?")
Estimate 75-85 people in attendance.

Meadows played for an hOUr and 40 minutes. Almost all his "First Cigarette" album.
His music was OUtstanding, even thOUgh I could sense he was tired. This was his last stop on this leg of his tOUr.

Got to visit with him a little afterwards. He signed my CD and I asked him about the somewhat bizarre cover.
He told me the woman in the robe & rabbit mask was his wife, 3 months before she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
And I asked him what's the 3-legged dog's name.
He told me his name "WAS" Larry and that he died about a month after the cover photo was taken.
He told me that album cover represented a lot of overcoming in his life.
I love the guy's music, and his life story.
Glad I took the time to see him play & sing.
