Pretty much dead on. It is tough to win one. It is extremely difficult to repeat. But, softball has come of age. There are good teams from coast to coast. With the right breaks, any team that makes it to the CWS has an opportunity. You might run into a 17-inning first game which would destroy your pitching as compared to other teams.
Oregon may enter as the #1 seed. But, the target will be on Oklahoma's back. Of the teams in the tournament, only Oklahoma has stepped up to win in the last two years. It would be almost an entirely different Florida team than the one that won three years ago. Oregon, Washington, Arizona State, Georgia---been a while since you were in the championship series. You have to gun for Oklahoma, then, maybe Florida. They have demonstrated within the past four years that they can win.
Outstanding read ... very well put together. I think she hit all the hot buttons. I do think that UCLA getting their back to back to back championships is pretty close to OU putting together that 47 game winning streak. I think that you could have taken this article and fairly easily changed it to the team next trying to break that streak .
It takes all the things she put in that story to create these kinds of sports records, at least team records.
