Buck Owens
Roy Clark...met him.
Dwight Yoakam
Merle Haggard Grew up near Checotah. Left in the Dust Bowl.

Roger Miller
Gene Autry

Okay, I have to be missing someone?

Others: David Gates and Leon Russell. Not country stars.

You have to claim Woody Guthrie, "This land is your land.  This land is my land."

Only Reba was better known nationally.

Hoyt Axton was pretty good.  Patti Page began as a country singer, moving more into a country pop.  Mockingbird Hill was country as was Tennessee Waltz.

Steve Gaines (guitar) and his sister Cassie Gaines (vocals) of Lynyrd Skynyrd grew up in Miami. Both died in the 1977 plane crash.

“The Queen of Rockabilly” Wanda Jackson
We can’t leave out Jimmy Webb (Wichita Lineman).

We should probably expand musical genres to include rock, jazz etc.
