Her and her father are big OU fans. When the first domino falls for these girls in softball recruiting, it doesn't take long for those who have made up their minds already to follow as well.

Florida actually got a verbal from a 2023(7th grader). Does it seem like this is getting a bit out of control? Maybe not since its not binding, but that's really young.

It’s really getting out of control. It has to be more of the parents taking charge and less of a seventh grader taking charge. They really shouldn’t even allow contact with these kids until at least sophomore year (or certain age).

The girl's father is Jason Williams, a former NBA player and Florida Gator.   Not much of a surprise.

Has anyone noticed even those these girls verbal early for the most part they don't change. Unlike football players who might change 5 times in 2 years. About the only time you see it is if a coach leaves, gets fired or a situation like Auburn has had.

I agree. The Alo switch from Cal was a huge surprise especially being that it was so late in her recruitment.

I think Alo's OC Batbusters teammates opened her eyes to what OU had to offer.

Didn't Cal lose a coach?  They had a pretty mediocre year.

Diane Ninemire has been at Cal forever ('88 I believe) and will be there until she decides to retire.

OU has the verbal from Avery Hodge a 2022 and I was told yesterday one more will be coming by end of the month. It will be big news if true.

My understanding she is a very good left handed catcher.Plays with Mizuno Storm. Older sibling played for BYU. Here comes the 2022's.

From flosoftball

Oklahoma loves power lefty pitchers and that's exactly what they're getting in the 2022 class. SJ Geurin was red hot last summer for the Diamond Sports Hotshots winning 12U PGF Premier Nationals and the World Fastpitch Championship. The Sooners also add 2022 catcher Jocelyn Erickson from Mizuno Storm Mathis/Holtorf.

Kind of seems like there is a connection between OU and Batbusters. Lots of OU commits have moved to Batbusters.

There's definitely a connection of some sort because not only are there former player's and current commits coming from the system but also currently there are three sisters in the system named Romero, Jennings, and Puni that are now on 12 and under squad.

Jocelyn is clearly one of the top catchers in the 2022 class, paired SJ Guerin, undoubtedly the best 2022 pitcher, it's looking like we're going to be the team to beat for a long time.
I heard the younger Puni, who is a 2023, is pretty good too. Maybe she'll follow into her sisters footsteps?

With the big announcement revealed earlier today that long-time media softball guru Brentt Eads has joined the Extra Inning Softball team, we’re wasting no time in putting him to work!

Brentt is recognized as the expert when it comes to ranking recruits and has done his top 100 lists—which began with the 2014 grad class and has gone through the 2021 class with multiple updated classes for most of them—for media outlets such as Student Sports, Full Count Softball and FloSoftball and now brings his expertise to Extra Inning Softball!

“We’re excited to launch our first top 100 list for Extra Inning Softball,” he said earlier today, “and we’ll begin with a class that hasn’t been ranked before—the 2022’s or current 8th graders.”

“This class is loaded with talent and it will be fun to honor and spotlight these amazingly talented and hard-working players,” Eads continues, “with more than two dozen already committed to major colleges like Oklahoma, Florida, UCLA, LSU, Georgia, and many more.”

Extra Inning has already profiled a talented pair that will be going to Oklahoma State together who will likely make the list as will a tall right-handed pitcher headed to Georgia.

Brentt and staff are hitting the phones and emails hard and putting together another strong ranking class, but now we’re opening it up to the public to submit nominations for the Extra Elite 100.

If you’d like to nominate your favorite 8th grader (2022), please e-mail us at: info@extrainningsoftball.com.
Make a strong case for your favorite athlete by including as much as you can including the following for bio purposes:

stats
honors
accomplishments,
recruiting info (commits, offers, visits, camps, etc.)
other sport accomplishments
key championships/wins
a “scouting report” of strengths
anything else that’s impressive!
head shot and/or action shots
Send in the info ASAP to ensure considerations as the lists will come out soon!

And be sure to keep following ExtraInningSoftball.com as we’ll profile these 2022’s on the way to announcing who makes the elite list and who the overall #1 player is!

This may start being the go to for softball recruiting. Looks like Brent will be doing his Hot 100's here. Will be interesting to see if Flo still does their list.

With Brentt Eads moving to Extra Inning Softball it looks like the Hot 100 will be the Elite 100 now. I'm not sure if that means Flo is not doing a list now but Brentt was the go to guy on it so I trust his list more.

100-91 today. All girls were uncommitted.

We have 3 commits in this class as of now.

Jocelyn Erickson Catcher

The first rankings are being released and I'll post the player's that Oklahoma may be in on as they get dropped. Right now Oklahoma has 3 commits in this class SS Avery Hodges, C Jocelyn Erickson, and P SJ Guerin. I expect all three to be in the top 100 with Erickson being in the Top 10, and Guerin Top 5.

#91—Janyssa Ramos, P, Top Gun Academy – Turner (uncommitted)

After strong camp performances at schools like Arkansas and Kansas, Janyssa has received significant interest and has received her first D1 offer. A lefty pitcher, she’s hitting 60 mph on the gun and has an effective change and is able to mix in curves and screws at any point in the count to keep the hitters guessing, which last season helped her average eight Ks per game and limit the opposition to a.209 batting average. Janyssa has George Gidora (Texas) and Paige Parker (Oklahoma) as pitching coaches and is getting stronger each outing at keeping hitters off balance and showing poise in the circle for someone playing top competition.[IMG]

#86—Lily West, C, Oklahoma Angels (uncommitted)
Lily has been working with Oklahoma standout catcher Lindsey Vandever Muddgett since age nine and that level of training shows in her play as she’s the undisputed leader on the field for her Oklahoma Angels team. Lily helped her team finish 3rd at the USA Elite Select WFC last summer facing some of the top teams in the country. The backstop has a quick transfer behind the plate combined with a strong work ethic and the athletic ability which will allow her to play at an elite collegiate level. Lily has caught the attention of several top colleges in the SEC and Big 12, several of whom have already invited her for visits. A multi-sport athlete, she plays AAU basketball and made her varsity tennis team as a 7th grader.
Oger's Take- Coach Gasso already has her commit at the Catcher position so I don't expect Oklahoma to be recruiting this local target but I guarantee you OSU will be more than happy to swoop in snatch her up.

#83—Ashley West, P/1B, OC Batbusters – Katie Stith (uncommitted)
At 6-foot-1, Ashley West has the frame and size that coaches love which has been a formula for D1 level success for many pitchers. And she might not be done growing as her father is 6-foot-8. It’s hard to create the leverage and whip that a tall pitcher has without that height. Pitching for the OC Batbusters team led by Katie Stith, the daughter of organizational head Mike Stith, Ashley is focused and a hard worker and has everyone watching her to see how she’ll mature and develop. Many are raving she has a very high ceiling because of her physical gifts, work ethic and great resources around her in the Batbuster organization. She’s a hard thrower working on movement and said one top coach, “Ashley is a bright prospect with a great future ahead of her.”
Oger's Take- This is one player that I am very intrigued with simply because of the physical attributes that she brings to the Pitcher's position. At 6'1" I'm very curious to see if she grows to 6'4" or 6'5" and is throwing flames by the time she hits her Junior year. Being that she is in the Batbuster's system which Coach Gasso has ties with you can bet they are watching her closely.

#82—Indiana Langford, MIF/OF, OC Batbusters – Shockey/Whieldon (uncommitted)
Indiana is a versatile player who has great speed and natural gifts you can’t coach. Said one elite scout, “She is freakishly fast, it’s unbelievable how fast she is.” Indiana is a middle infielder who looks to be playing more at second base, at least in the short term, and is a slapper who can put the ball on the dirt and move down the line to make it so anything that’s not fielding immediately will put her on the bases. She was impressive at the Select 30 All-American combine last August in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and competing against players years older more than held her own. Indiana is another player with unlimited potential and said a top club coach, “She could be a top 20 player in her class very soon.”
Oger's Take- Again another OC Batbuster and any top player that comes from that organization you know Oklahoma is keeping a close eye on. Being that she is a lefty slapper and reportedly very fast you have to evaluate her as a potential leadoff.
